FedRAMP certification sets a baseline of security standards for cloud computing providers to supply cloud services to Federal agencies.
 
CHANDLER, Ariz., April 30th, 2014— Vigilant Technology, a veteran owned, leading provider of cloud services, cloud engineering, and business continuity services, announced today that it on track to achieve Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) compliance with the Federal Government. Through the federal government’s security assessment, Vigilant will become the only veteran owned and the first Arizona company, to achieve compliance, and one of only a few cloud service providers (CSPs) cloud solutions companies certified to provide cloud services to Federal Agencies.
FedRAMP is a government-wide program that provides a standardized approach to security assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring for cloud products and services.  The result of a close collaboration of private industry cybersecurity and cloud experts and governmental departments including GSA, NIST, DHS, DOD, NSA, OMB, the Federal CIO Council and its working groups, it aims to improve government cloud services and by extension private industry cloud installations.

Once FedRAMP is operational, Federal Agencies have 2 years to ensure that currently implemented cloud services or those services in an active acquisition process meet FedRAMP requirements. For all future deployments FedRAMP will be mandatory for all Federal Agency cloud deployments.   
Unlike agency certified FedRamp CSPs, Vigilant’s systems are continuously monitored for PCI-DSS, SOX, CISP, HIPPA and FedRamp compliance and is verified on a quarterly basis by FedRamp approved 3rd party Assessment Organizations  (3PAO’s). The full FedRamp certification allows Vigilant to support information security requirements of moderate or higher. Furthermore, the industry standard Vigilant Infrastructure as a Service (IAAS) platform is designed and certified to meet DOD security standards, unlike many proprietary cloud platforms. Additionally, Vigilant infrastructure is housed in Tier 3/Tier 4 Uptime Institute ISO 2700 certified datacenters.
