Vigilant has been full steam ahead already in 2020, owing to our late 2019 SBIR win with the Air Force Space Pitch Day series, and now as a participant in the dynamic Catalyst Data Fusion Accelerator program in Colorado Springs. Participation in the Accelerator program has given Vigilant a real boost in visibility and business development opportunity by putting our team in direct contact with large prime contractors, a huge pool of potential Air Force and other DoD customers, commercial programs, and workshops designed to help us maximize our growth potential. Vigilant also recently proposed on a new SBIR Open Topic sponsored by AFWERX – this would expand upon our ongoing software development work with our Intelligent Workspace concept, and if we win, we’d be giving our 2020 project portfolio a significant shot in the arm, potentially making it possible to catapult our company well beyond our original 2020 expectations.

The line between Microsoft Reporting, and Microsoft Reporting Services can be a little murky. Both use a Report Definition file with the extension RDLC. However, that is where the similarity ends.

Because the two have a very similar look and feel from the front end, the end user, or even a system admin is unlikely to know the difference between the two. Adding to the confusion, a search engine query seeking information about either Microsoft.Reporting, or Microsoft.ReportingServices is likely to return the same results, all for Microsoft.ReportingServices.

It is only when we drill into the nitty-gritty in a development environment such as Visual Studio that the differences between these two becomes evident.
